October 1st is the anniversary of my mother's passing, so I visited our family grave a day early today. (As it turns out, she actually passed away on the 7th, my sis says. Those days with someone with ALS were too hectic to keep track of dates.) It was cloudy and a little muggy, but was nice enough to drive along the coast and walk up the hill.
I usually drive on to Hakone when I visit the family grave. Today, I chose to have lunch at an Italian restaurant produced by Toyoo Tamamura who draws, cooks, and owns and runs a winery in Karuizawa.
This year, October 1st is also the day when the consumption tax is raised in Japan. So, after lunch, I drove to a big outlet shopping center in Gotemba. I was looking for a fake-leather jacket, so I can wear it without worrying about rain. But... I came home with a real leather jacket. I wonder why... :)
10月1日は母の命日なので（たぶん。ちゃんと覚えてない。父は私の誕生日だから忘れない。）、湯河原の寺に墓参りに行った。
雲が多いながらも、時々日がさして蒸し暑い。
墓からの眺め。また木が大きくなって、ますます海が見えなくなった。
祖父がここに墓を建てたときは広々と見えたのに。
墓参りの後は箱根に回ることにしている。
きょうは初めて元箱根の芦ノ湖テラスに行って見た。
ここは、玉村豊男氏プロデュースのピッツエリアとミュージアムのあるところ。
イタリア色溢れる店内から芦ノ湖を眺めつつ、
ハーフサイズのサラダとサクラマスのピザを頂く。美味。
あー、ここに、１４７に乗っていた頃に二人で来たかったな、と思う。
平日でも観光客はそこそこいて湖畔を散歩している。湖には海賊船も。
帰りは御殿場のアウトレットに寄ることに。なんたって明日から消費税が上がるもんね。
だからといってあれこれ買うつもりはなく、雨を気にせず着られるフェイクレザーのジャケットがあれば、と思って一回り。
フォションのスパークリング・ティーで休憩。
買ったのはこれ。え、ええ、フェイクじゃないです。あれ？
