Taking advantage of a tax hike?

(English to follow.)

In Japan, the consumption tax (an equivalent of VAT or sales tax) will be raised by 3 %
from April 1st.  So, I went to the store to buy some daily necessities to stock up.
But I found the price of major brand items the store used to sell at the lowest price in the area having raised to the level of other stores, and the store's original band items that are low-priced with satisfactory quality have already been sold out.
It seems like the store is taking advantage of the tax hike to raise the price of major-brand items.
I don' have time and energy to do research and report the case to the authorities, but I do feel as if my afternoon shopping spoiled.
