My birthday was last Sunday, but the Tango Dance Asian Championships were going on last weekend, and, also, we were celebrating another lady's birthday, which was last Wednesday.
So, yesterday was more appropriate, anyway.
I don't remember how was the custom in the States, but in Spanish speaking culture, it's customary for the person who's having birthday to treat his or her guests. We followed this cusom, and two of us treated other guests.
This group of friends love to travel, and they always come with photos from their recent trip.
This time, a couple reported on their bicycle trip around Shikoku,
and another showed us beautiful shots from Jordan.
I have to say the most impressive was the photos of stars taken in the desert.
I guess it's worthwhile to travel all the miles only to see that view.
昨日の土曜日はタンゴの友人たちが来宅して、
ともに先週誕生日だった私とTちゃんの誕生会をした。
いつもは餃子の会をする私たち。
今回は、いつも念のためにと買ってある冷凍餃子を食べることにし、
私は焼売を作ってみた。
（焼売って蒸すのになんで「焼」？ そして写真は撮ってない(>_<)）
スペイン語圏では、誕生日を迎える人がお客さんをもてなすのが習慣らしいので、
それにならって私とTちゃんで食べ物を用意。
Tちゃんはパエリアを作ってくれた。
そして〆は鹿児島のいとこが送ってくれた白くまたち。
このグループ、旅好きが多く、いつも誰かが最近の旅の報告をしてくれる。
今回も四国自転車旅とヨルダン周遊の旅の報告があった。
それぞれパソコン、デジカメをテレビにつないで、
写真や動画を大画面に写してみんなで見ながら話を聞けて、とても楽しかった。
私の子どものころは、こういうときは部屋を暗くして８ミリとかスライドとか上映したもの。
便利な時代になった。
夫の病気で旅行に行くことができない私たちには、
旅の思い出話がなによりのお土産だ。
四国のカルストやら青島の猫たち、砂漠の夜の満点の星も印象的だったけど、
一番ウケたのは、死海の水着写真の途中で画面に
表示できない画像です
と出たときだった。X-ratedか？と誰もが思って大笑いだった。
